Here is some exciting news about the Family Loan Program.

Mary Ellen Haley from ESI advises that she has had some inquiries from CWES staff about the Family Loan Program and provides us with the details. The Family Loan Program is up and running again, after a few months of transformation. A new Program Director has been hired. Her name is Christina Chin. You can reach her at 408-374-9220x204. Christina is available to come speak to staff at unit meetings, so go ahead and give her a call if your department would benefit from a brief presentation about the Family Loan services for low income families and CalWORKs families.

Please read on to get the latest news about what's happening for low income families in SCC as well as a NEW CAR LOAN PROGRAM for CalWORKs and post CalWORKs participants!

The new programs:

1. The Ways to Work Family Loan Program is available for Low Income Parents in the community who may apply for low interest loans up to $3,000. This is not an emergency loan fund. They can apply to the Family Loan program for low interest car loans. Eligible families can obtain up to $3,000 to cover the cost of a car, car insurance, car registration and/or emergency roadside assistance. This is not an emergency loan fund.
