Liz is a CalWORKs Employment Technician working at Technology Drive. She and Nilda Tiscareno work with social workers on common cases to help people get back to work. This often includes giving out transportation information. She will give customers the Transportation Resource Guide and the Guaranteed Ride Home Application to help them think about their backup transportation plans. In many cases, their customers use the GRHP for a short time while they are working together to figure out a regular transportation schedule. For example, it may be a challenge for someone starting a new job on a 6am shift to find child care at that hour. It may take a few days to identify someone to help take the kids to day care once it opens, and in the meantime the GRHP helps the customer get started at the new job. If you have customers in a similar situation, encourage them to enroll in the GRHP.
