A: Scheduled transportation to work, training, school and other CalWORKs sanctioned activities. Participants may use the service to drop-off their dependent children (up to 13 years of age) at day care, pre-school or school, on their way to their CalWORKs approved activity. Participants may use the service to pick-up children from these locations on their return trip home. The service may be used to obtain a ride home, when a qualified participant has difficulty with their vehicle at work and has no other alternative to return home. Program participants may receive up to 40 one-way trips during their CalWORKs eligibility period. Services are typically provided in sedans with the OUTREACH logo or through a taxi service working in cooperation with OUTREACH. All transportation services are free of charges to qualified participants. Participants must provide appropriate car safety-seats for children accompanying them on a trip. No car safety-seats will be provided by the Guaranteed Ride Program. No child will be transported without an appropriate car safety-seat. |
